Quebec newcomer Charlotte Cardin posts almost exclusively in French on her Facebook - we've gleaned that she's opening for MIKA this weekend, and has a penchant for covering Britney Spears (thanks GCSE languages lessons). With that in mind, it's a little surprising to hear her crisp, jazz-hinged English vocals on new single, 'Big Boy'. Timeless and classic, but peppered with distinctly modern quirks, 'Big Boy' features a spartan, synthetic-feeling beat and distant piano motif, and that's pretty much the only instrumental accompaniment to Cardin's stunning solo.
